TUTORIAL - Ballard Inspired Vase

i made this tutorial a while back... I guess I just never got around to posting it! So here it is!'

My inspiration was these knotted jute bottles from Ballard Designs... I didn't have any big bottles though, so I used an old green vase.

To make this you'll need a vase/jar/bottle, twine or jute {I got my twine from Dollar Tree... love that place!}, scissors and hotglue!
First cut a string and tie it around the neck of the vase. {leave those long ends, you'll use them!}

Cut another long piece {approx 4x the height of the vase} and string one side through like this: Then tie a knot with the strings.
Do this all around about every 1 1/2 inches.
Take one of the tails from one 'knot' and another tail from the other 'knot' closest and tie a knot about 2 inches down the twine.
Knot #1 is the original knot when you tied the string to the vase, Knot #2 is the second knot you made.
Now repeat the knotting part again until you're at the bottom {I hope it makes sense... I can't really explain very well...}
Now just hot glue the ends to the bottom and cut the excess!

Thanks for reading! Let me know if you have anything you'd like me to do a tutorial on!

Hugs,
Alyssa
