TUTORIAL: Pokemon Nails

I grew up with one older brother. He was my biggest influence and my best friend ... I wanted to do everything he did and I lived most of my childhood being a big tomboy.  We watched power rangers, monster trucks, scooby doo and pokemon. We climbed trees, built forts, played some intense pillow fights and everything like that. Dang I miss those days... haha! But Pokemon was huge with us. We both bought decks of cards and played pretty hard core :) And I will admit that a year and a half ago we got back into it and we went out and bought new decks and played every spare second for about a month until i was creaming him and he tried making the rules change for him (he always has done that) and I got mad and then we quit.

Anyways... moral of the story... I miss my brother. Okay no it's actually that I decided to make pokemon nails but I just realized how good of a life I have. Who knew God could work through something silly like this and make me appreciate life more? :)

ANYWAYS... enough with my ADD!! I made pokemon nails. And I want to show you how you can, too. So here we go, you ready?

You need: Red, black, white, base and top coat nail polish. tape.

1. the usual. Fix up the nails and base coat... you know the drill!

2. Get black. Paint a stripe down the middle of your nails like so:

3. Wait for that to dry. Cut some painters tape (that's what I prefer to use... I think any kind will work!) in a small strip and put it on top right down the middle of the black.

4. Paint white on the bottom and red on the top.  Let it dry and do a second coat if needed and immediately peel the tape off after your last coat.

 5. Paint a black circle in the middle of each nail. Let it dry and do a smaller white dot in the middle of that.

6. Let it dry and then top coat and you're done!

This was my first try ever, so I'll be trying out a different technique soon and I'll let you know if that one works better.

Thanks for sticking around and I hope you enjoyed it!

///nail polish addict?///

once upon a time, i was trudging back to my mother after searching the clearance section of a royal place called Walmart. As i pursued the isles for more items on sale, i found a MAMMOTH sale on this queer stuff called 'nail polish'. It's simply paint for your nails I'm assuming. Anyways it was marked down to 50-75 cents a piece. So if you know me at all, you know i love a good deal, i snatched up basically every color left. :)

   A very pointless story for your day. But anyways the moral was is that when i got home i decided to sort all of my nail polish. So i did. and i realised i have wayyyy more nail polish than any human being should {unless you own a salon/spa place...} so yeah i decided to take pictures and show you guys how weird i am.
here's a slideshow going down my OCD organized line of nail polish ;p

Actually, i was going to make a little vlog thingy of me showing you my nail polish addiction, but as i watched the video i realized i'm even more dorky than i thought. So yeah... eherm ... let's just say that i didn't feel like i should scare you all with my awkward videos. I deleted them so that in the future when i'm old and we're going through old pictures and videos and we watch them my kids don't get disturbed by how weird their mom was. ;)

In my defense, i can honestly say all of my nail polish is either A) $1 or less   B) a gift   C) major clearance.   I did the math {and it's a weekend... i did it just for you. so feel special.} and in total ALL of that nail polish you see? yeah it cost me under $30. So i'm happy ;)

{my faves are the glitter ones from Forever 21. they. are. amazing.}

love you guys!!! thanks for reading!

tutorial - easy 'space nails'

I kinda like them. just a ton. haha :) you can see i dented the 3rd finger pretty badly... oh well. Life goes on :)

so I just kind of felt like doing a tutorial... there really isn't a need for one, but you know why not?

these are the colors I used. I have NEVER payed over $2 for a bottle of nail polish, so ... yeah. I use NYC's $1 version :) and I find they actually work pretty well... the shimmery ones look really nice if you layer 2 similar colors. The one in the middle is some random thing I got a few years ago in one of those $5 big packages full of cruddy kid makeup. It was a gift haha :)

and then i used a mini glitter polish I've had since I was 4. Yes, 10 years. Haha :) oh, and for the record I do paint my nails very messily, and the excess washes off when you wash your hands... so I find that works better for me than missing some of the spots of my nails by my skin :)

awkward self pic :P haha
Someday I will get those little sponge thingies and do these... someday. {I'm a procrastinator... so maybe never.}

 So those were my little 'knock off' easy version of the beauties above :) They actually look much more 'deep' in real life. i like them :)

Thanks for reading!
