Feature: Two Girls Being Crafty!

Today I'm going to show you a fantastic blog called Two Girls Being Crafty, and a bunch of their awesome crafts! I'm so suprised their blog only has about 500 followers! That's not bad or anything... I mean, mine only has 25... but their blog is full of so much fantasticness and awesomeness, It's just crazy they aren't in the 50,000's! So do them a favor, and head on over there and check their blog out!

First off, we have this beauty: Read how to make one of your own here.

Not only are they crafty, they are funny! This is their "Scrapple" art! (to find out why it's called that click on the link!) I love it so much! I am very impatiently waiting to find an old scrabble set at the thrift store! There are so many cute crafts out there using them!

Learn how to make it here.

This is what scrapple really is (I think it's pig fat and something else that is nasty!):

"YUMM!"

They made this super cute knock off pillow:

I can crochet, so I am definitely making this in the near future!

Learn to make it here.

We were at Michaels yesterday (not good!) and bought a TON of $1 stuff... including 5 small canvases. I have a few ideas for them, but I'm pretty sure I'm going to make this on at least one of them:

It's made of paint chips! Which by the way I have a tutorial coming up for a cool paint chip craft :D Learn how to make the knock off art here.

I have seen these all over blogland, and I actually had a tutorial for them, but I deleted it because Two Girls Being Crafty made a better tutorial, By far the best tutorial I have seen out there! Learn how to make the marble magnets HERE.

That's all for today folks! Let me know if you like me featuring blogs in the comments section.

I am having trouble with XL spaces between pictures and stuff... could anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? I delete all of the spaces in my posts, but when I publish them the go crazy again... I'd definitely like any tips on that!

Thanks for reading!

Headband tutorial

I made a bow headband, but you can make it anything! Here ya go:

First: draw and cutout the shape you want. Second: lay it over the cloth you want. I used a thin cloth, but I'm sure you can use a thick one too.

Third: cut it out a lil' bigger than you want it to be in reality.

(This is how much mine was bigger! Sorry for the bad picture!)

Fourth: pin your cut out shape onto a piece of felt.

Fifth: Cut around the pinned shape and sew around the edge.

(cut off excess.)

Sixth: cut out a circle that is too big:

Seventh: sew around the circle. (sorry for the bad pic again!)

Eighth: Sew little lines like you would see on a bow.

Ninth: pin the bow to your headband. (I made mine by chaining crochet until it was the right length for my head; then I joined the two ends using a slip stich. I then double crochet all the way around and tied a knot.)

Tenth: sew your bow onto the headband using invisible thread.

Ta-da! I think the next one I make I will make the center a different color or something! This can be done with any shape! I was inspired by this. I also made an adorable headband following her design!
Hope you like this tutorial!

Crochet bow tutorial

I made a few small crochet bows, and I love them! you can glue them to clips, headbands (or you can be like me and slip them on a thin plastic headband, then you can change the bow as often as you like!) and even shoes! The possiblities are endless! Here it is, you'll probably have to click on the pictures to make them larger. :D
Comment if you like it and if it made sense! Thanks!

Some Crochet things

Here is a Jellyfish mobile I made for my little brother. I created the pattern myself! Unfortunately the ring at the top I tried making out of pipe cleaners.. It obviously didn't work the best! :P So I got my wonderfull dad to make me a nicer ring out of a big brass wire thingy. So It looks much better now!

This Bird I made a few of for the fun of it! I will show you more pictures of them and others later!
